Uganda

In July 2017 I flew to Uganda with my sister. We were dreaming of meeting face to face the amazing animals that inhabit the forests, woodlands and savannas of the country. With a local safari company we explored the central and western regions of Uganda. National Parks offer visitors the chance to see animals in their natural habitat such as elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, gorillas and chimpanzees to name some. It is priceless to see these creatures roaming undisturbed in their home. However the conservation status of the wildlife is unstable due to the high degree of deforestation that is affecting the country. This is the result of growing crops and raising livestock for a fast growing population. Habitat defense plans must then require defined goals and the adoption of strict laws to guarantee the survival of the Ugandan wildlife.

The map above (from maps.google.com) shows our main stops.
